
Mission
The Office of Academic and Student Affairs provides in-depth information about OHSU students, the quality and effectiveness of academic programs, and the assessment of student learning outcomes.
The office provides analytic support and expertise to aid in policy development, evaluation, and management of academic programs and student support services. The ultimate goal is to enable greater student and institutional success.
Key responsibilities include:
- Facilitating the process for the approval of new academic programs.
- Coordinating data development and maintaining systems to provide broad performance visibility including:
- OHSU Academic Programs Database
- Student Learning Outcomes
- Legislatively-approved Key Performance Measures (KPMs)
- Coordinating institutional accountability reporting, including:
- Institutional and program-level accrediation
- Studies of student retention and graduation
- Studies of student satisfaction
- Annual Key Performance Measure Reports to the Oregon Legislature
- Facilitating the institution-wide plan for the assessment of student learning outcomes and supporting best practice sharing across programs and schools.
- Coordinating data development and analysis of academic-related issues, including needs assessments and survey development.
- Coordinating institutional responses to national surveys including the NSF's Survey of Earned Doctorates, the College Board's annual institutional survey and the National Research Council's Assessment of Research Doctoral Programs.
